How to Get Your DNA Raw Data File

🧬23andMe

  1. Log in to your 23andMe account
  2. Go to Tools Browse Raw Data
  3. Click "Download" at the top of the page
  4. Select "All DNA" or "Ancestry"
  5. Choose "Download Raw Data"
  6. Enter your password to confirm
  7. Wait for the email with your download link (usually arrives within minutes)
  8. Download the .txt file to your computer

Note: The file will be named something like "genome_YourName_v5_Full_YYYYMMDD.txt"

  1. Log in to your Ancestry account
  2. Go to DNA Your DNA Results Summary
  3. Click on "Settings" (gear icon)
  4. Scroll down to "Actions" section
  5. Click "Download Raw DNA Data"
  6. Enter your password to confirm
  7. Check your email for the download link
  8. Download the .txt file to your computer

Note: The file will be named something like "AncestryDNA.txt" or "Ancestry_dna_file_YYYYMMDD.txt"
